How do you find leaks?
With several different microphones, The Pool Detective uses sonar technology to hear the water escaping the vessel. We utilize static tests and pressure testing also! We aim to stay up-to-date with the latest technology while keeping it old school and diving in!

Can you repair the leak underwater?
Yes! Most leaks can be repaired underwater! There are a few exceptions that do require the pool to be drained, but most leaks can be repaired without having to drain the pool. Please keep in mind that colder air and water temperatures affect the sealants - the warmer the better!

Why is my pool leaking?
There are many different reasons as to why a pool can begin to leak. Age, water chemistry, harsh winters to extreme summer heat, each of these greatly contribute to the condition of a swimming pool. Just like a house or a car, swimming pools need tune-ups, too!

What can I do to help?
Ensure The Pool Detective has all codes necessary to examine the pool (auto-cover, gate or lock codes). Ensure the water level is at the appropriate height - halfway in the skimmer; we also need clean and clear water! It never hurts to run the 24-on / 24-off test prior to our arrival!
